With Dr Tessa Opie

This 60-minute professional development webinar explores the complex relationship between alcohol consumption and sexual consent. It will examine how alcohol specifically impairs cognitive functions essential for practising consent—including decision-making capacity, communication, and perception of social cues.

Participants will learn about the assumptions many young people make about consent and sexual activity when consuming alcohol. They will also explore common misconceptions about alcohol as an "excuse" for boundary violations.

Practical strategies for school-based consent education will also be discussed

This event is for teachers, youth workers, and anyone caring for and supporting young people.
